I'm sending this to you because you're the only Skam blog I follow now, but I genuinely don't understand how you deal with the Skam fandom. Just this morning alone, I've seen like 10 different white people speaking over Muslims, saying mentally ill people "obviously" have it worse than WOC, and saying William and Noora are just as important this season as Sana. It's truly fucking wild. God forbid this had happened last season with their precious Evak. They'd be losing it.

i know i’m not saying anything groundbreaking here but yeah, fandom is pretty universally awful. :/ my rule is mostly Don’t Engage and when even being on the sidelines and witnessing the headassery becomes too much: block, blacklist, and unfollow. especially lately, i’ve been making a concentrated effort to stay away from the shenanigans (to put it dizzyingly lightly!); the show is vastly easier to enjoy when you’re able to mostly consume it alone. granted, there are exceptions to that (i do follow and know some great people who i’ve met through fandom who i really enjoy discussing the show with/keep me educated on things i’m unfamiliar with that the show may address).

but yeah, the majority of fandom is really gross. everything is a competition and a fight and the “who’s oppressed more” game is becoming increasingly popular. it’s exhausting. i’m happy you’re making steps to distance yourself from it (and that i somehow made the cut ❤️) because it can be such a toxic and unhealthy environment. and i do agree that if isak and even’s storyline was sidelined so someone else’s could be shoehorned in, there would be a lot more pushback than there is this season and there’s no grand mystery behind why!!
